They’re excellent for highlighting differences in magnitude across a small to medium set of items. Use more than one series of data to get stacked version of Vertical bar chart. ### When to use it * Comparing values across categories (e.g., revenue by region). * Showing change over time with a small number of periods. * Emphasising absolute differences rather than proportions. Avoid column charts for very long category lists—consider a horizontal bar chart instead. ### Data requirements * One or more numeric series. * Categories can be nominal (unordered) or ordinal. *
