Create Scatter plot

Everything you need to know to create the chart you want.

Overview

Scatter plots show relationships between two numerical variables by plotting points on an x/y plane. They reveal correlations, clusters, and outliers.

When to use it

• Exploring correlation between metrics (e.g., conversion rate vs. spend).

• Highlighting clusters in product usage or customer segments.

• Spotting outliers that merit discussion.

Avoid scatter plots when categories are categorical or when you only have one metric—line or bar charts will be clearer.

Data requirements

• Each point needs an x-value and y-value.

• Use label or category per point for legends.
